RFU Seal of Approval Club of the Year Award 2009/10

RFU PRESS RELEASE RFU Seal of Approval Club of the Year Award 2009/10 Winner: Keswick RFC

It says much for Keswick RFC that they even had time to complete the application form for this award given their seemingly relentless problems with flooding. However, 2009/10 has been a year of triumph as well as adversity for the Cumbrian club and having finished Runners’ Up in the Seal of Approval section last season, their elevation to top spot is a fitting tribute to all the workers at Davidson Park.

With over £250,000 raised towards pitch drainage and floodlighting, a new girls’ tournament attracting 400 players, six new Level 1 coaches, six new ELRA referees and four new committee members being recruited, ‘business as usual’ has been proceeding at the club which underlines the tremendous spirit at this RU outpost. RFU President’s XV – Seal of Approval Club of the Year This award looks to recognise an accredited club that has reached high levels of provision for all its members and has the planning and processes to ensure long term sustainability. The club will have strong links with the local community and will have fully inclusive recruitment and retention programmes.
